What is Ethyl Acetate used for?
Ethyl acetate is a food flavoring that is allowed to be used in regulations. It can be used in a
small amount in magnolia, ylang-ylang, sweet-scented osmanthus, rabbit-ear flower, toilet water, and
fruity fragrances as top notes to enhance fresh fruity aromas, especially in perfume essences, which
have a ripe effect. Applicable to cherry, peach, apricot, grape, strawberry, raspberry, banana, raw
pear, pineapple, lemon, melon and other food flavors. Alcoholic flavors such as brandy, whiskey,
rum, rice wine, white wine, etc. are also used.
Ethyl acetate is one of the most widely used fatty acid esters. It is a fast-drying solvent with
excellent solvency. It is an excellent industrial solvent and can also be used as an eluent for
column chromatography. It can be used for nitrocellulose, ethyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber and
vinyl resin, cellulose acetate, cellulose butyl acetate and synthetic rubber, and can also be used
for liquid nitrocellulose ink for copiers. It can be used as a solvent for adhesives and a thinner
for spray paint. Ethyl acetate is an efficient solvent for many types of resins, and is widely used
in the production of inks and artificial leather. Used as analytical reagent, chromatographic
analysis standard substance and solvent.
Spill emergency treatment?
Quickly evacuate the personnel in the leaked contaminated area to a safe area, and isolate them,
strictly restricting access. Cut off the fire source. It is recommended that emergency personnel
wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and fire protection clothing. Cut off the
source of leakage as much as possible to prevent entering restricted spaces such as sewers and flood
drains.
Small spills: Absorb with activated carbon or other inert material. It can also be washed with a
large amount of water, and the washed water need to be diluted and put into the waste water
system.
Large amount of leakage: Construct dikes or dig pits for containment, and cover them with foam to
reduce steam disasters. Use an explosion-proof pump to transfer to a tank truck or a special
collector, recycle or transport to a waste disposal site for disposal.
