Melamine is commonly known as cyanuramide or protein essence. It is
a triazine-containing nitrogen heterocyclic organic compound. It appears as a white monoclinic crystal and
is almost odorless.
Main Uses
Plastics Industry: Melamine is the main raw material for the production of melamine-formaldehyde resin (MF).
This resin has excellent water resistance, heat resistance, arc resistance and good mechanical properties,
and is widely used in the manufacture of plastics, laminates, etc.
Coatings Industry: Thermosetting coatings can be prepared with melamine, which can endow the coatings with
good gloss, hardness and durability.
Paper Industry: It can be used as a paper treatment agent to improve the water resistance and strength of
paper.
Textile Industry: As an anti-wrinkle and anti-shrink finishing agent for textiles, it can improve the
performance of fabrics.
Application of Melamine in Melamine Tableware
Application Principle: Melamine tableware is made of melamine-formaldehyde resin, which is formed by the
polymerization reaction of melamine and formaldehyde under certain conditions. During the molding process,
the molecules of this resin form a three-dimensional network structure, which endows the tableware with good
stability and mechanical properties.
Advantages
Beautiful and Diverse: By adding different pigments, melamine tableware can be made into various colors and
patterns, meeting the aesthetic needs of different consumers.
Lightweight and Durable: It is light in texture, easy to handle and use. Meanwhile, it has high hardness and
toughness and is not easy to break, making it suitable for use in families, restaurants and other
occasions.
Good Heat Resistance: It can withstand a certain degree of high temperature, can be heated in a microwave
oven, and can also be used to hold hot food, and is not easy to deform or release harmful substances due to
temperature changes.
Easy to Clean: The surface is smooth and not easy to leave stains. It can be easily kept clean by simple
cleaning with water or detergent.
Precautions for Use
Avoid High Temperatures: Although melamine tableware has a certain degree of heat resistance, it should be
avoided to be used at high temperatures for a long time or heated above its temperature tolerance, otherwise
the tableware may be deformed and even release harmful substances.
Prevent Scratching: During use, try to avoid scratching the surface of the tableware with sharp objects to
avoid damaging its smoothness and integrity, and affecting its service life and aesthetics.
Choose Regular Products: When buying melamine tableware, choose regular products with quality assurance to
ensure that they meet relevant safety standards and avoid potential health risks caused by using inferior
products.
